Canadian, Stone Mason, Ex-Pat living in the UK.
Haven’t had to use them recently, check out the man?
I had a dentist in Canada tell me all my front teeth needed to be removed, implants for the top and dentures for the bottom. I was 27. I’m now 38, still have all of those teeth he’d said needed replacing. The next dentist I saw was absolutely floored when I told her what he’d advised me to do. And if he hadn’t been such a condescending asshole, just a little bit more understanding that not everyone can afford consistent dental care… well…I’d probably have gone and had him do it.
Have you tried silver, crosses or a stake?
God…if I was half that magnificent my life would have been way easier…
Well, their mums never parented enough to tell them to stand up straight or go cut their own switch…and if it’s thinner than their mum’s thumb they’ll get an even worse thrashing. Another obvious reason that children should be beaten.
This is clearly(mostly) sarcasm. Just wanted to point that out. No child should be beaten…regardless of what kind of absolutely monstrous waste of air/detriment to the continuation of the species they turn out to be.
Like I replied to someone else FL has been “running well in wine” for ages now. I’ve just never managed to get it functioning at all, like I wasn’t having audio issues or anything…because the one click wouldn’t work for me, and manually setting it never worked for me either. It’s been about 2 years now since I tried, and this recall bullshit means that if I can’t get it running I’ll just switch to something else and change my workflow.
FL studio has “worked well in wine” for ages now, I’ve never managed to get it properly functioning. Like I said, I’ll give it another try, not willing to have recall running on my machines.
I’ve been using Fruityloops for over 20 years. I’ve tried loads of stuff, but my workflow is pretty stuck in the FL ecosystem. I haven’t tried Ardour yet, definitely willing to give it a go, but when I’m in the mood to punch something out really quick, I already know all the keybinds, how things interact etc etc. I’ve started using Sunvox a bit. It’s a modular synth/tracker runs one everything shy of an actual potato…I think doom is the only thing I know about that runs on more systems than Sunvox. But it’s painful when I want to just diddle something quick that’s stuck in my head.
Fuuuuuck…well…my laptop was my last windows device. It came with 11 installed, and the only reason I keep using 11 is because I have had no success in running my DAW in wine. Guess it’s time to give it a go again…
How likely are you to not be able to access the internet at a UK border you might be traveling through? Seriously.
There’s been quite a few times where I’ve not been able to access the internet through my phone at major airports in the UK. Heathrow, Luton, Glasgow. I didn’t have an active UK SIM I wasn’t able to get net connection through the WiFi as they were overloaded/having issues. This is not uncommon.
Also, have you heard of a download for offline usage?
See, it’s not a multi-use thing, it’s not like a membership card or a boarding pass or a credit card. It’s a code that’s generated by logging into the .gov site, and is only valid for a single use, and a limited time.
I’m a Canadian immigrant to the UK, from December 1st this year, all Residency proof documents are formed forced digital. As I’m Canadian I can just scan my passport and get in, no visa required. If border control pulls me aside and demands my proof of residency, and I can’t access the internet, I may be stuck in a small room for hours or days, or ejected from the country. So that’s gonna be fun.
Nice! Took me the better part of 5mins to dredge his name from the deepest folds of my memory, glad I got it right.
I remember hearing about them when they first started late research stages(like figuring out how to scale to mass manufacturing levels.)
Was it…uhhhhh…snaps fingers what’s his name, Dr Goodenough? The guy that was a major player in all our modern battery tech?
Cool… unfortunately my search is not turning up much. SCI.ai a science geared LLM was about 30% of my search results over Google and DDG. The other 70% is about Sierra’s Creative Interpreter, and a moisturizer additive had 2 hits.
Glad you gave me the synopsis, apparently I’m incapable of finding that info myself, regardless of what combination of AI/AGI/SCI/DIFFERENCES etcetcetc and nauseum.

They probably would if they weren’t being payed by lobby groups not to. Or at least one would hope they would.
Did we all forget about the study from Mozilla on vehicle data collection?
The fact of the matter is that every single new connected product is collecting data on anyone who uses it. Once the data is collected, it’s sold. Once it’s on the market, that data is used by every country. China will eventually get data on US drivers regardless of what make they drive, the US government just wants first dibs.
I’m not one of those people who think that China and Russia are some kind of utopic ideal we should all be working towards. The US government is also not a shining beacon of ethics.
Always has been
