It’s unique in it’s looks.
That’s what they said about me.

Hey, leave Drunk Steve out of this. He did nothing wrong.
Just tell him the only way to mine it is with windmill power. He’ll change his tune.
How much of that is IT and how much is the damn CIO who was appointed because he’s the CEOs wife’s cousin instead of because he knows anything and refuses to change his password?
But I’m not bitter. At least I didn’t get caught in this one.
And an accountant, but yeah this is solid advice. It was definitely something I knew but didn’t realize that it’s harder than it looks back when I did it.
Yep. I’ve done exactly that. Something overlooked a lot of places is to actually start an LLC (it does cost a bit, especially if you’re strapped) if you can because that protects you. If you screw something up by accident a company can either come after you personally or the business that employs you.
Yep, which should change when they release 3.0.
Yes.
I never thought I’d see one of Charlie’s blogs posted around Lemmy unless it was about his books. Good to see him getting some recognition.
Pornhub set up their geofence. X won’t listen and no one will enforce it.
O&G still uses a lot of old versions as well. I remember back in the Win 7 days when I had to set up a 95 virtual machine and register a bunch of DLLs by hand plus set up a fake A: drive because even the 95 version of the software was garbage. A friend of mine did something similar but he got it working on the Win 7 machine somehow. I never understood how, but he left a script behind at the company he worked for because it needed to be reinstalled every time someone did something stupid and he didn’t want to do it by hand.
His name is Dennis. Once you really get to know him you’ll understand.
Same. My Dark Reader doesn’t always show websites properly but Firefox hasn’t let me down in ages.
It’s definitely difficult over text unless you know someone.
“You won’t believe number 6!”
No one could have seen this coming. Obviously LLMs absolutely completely understand the difference between people joking around with each other and authentic advice.
Sarcasm aside, Reddit does have some good information about niche topics. There’s just currently no way for AI to understand the difference between dry humor and serious responses. I think the AI summaries are unhelpful anyway, but even if I didn’t it’s pretty obvious Google didn’t think further than “Shove AI into it like a drunken prom night encounter”.
Why are these corporate schmucks unable to take any blame?
Because they never have to.
The issue is that there are a lot of bad actors “just asking questions”. You’re not one. A lot of folks have a hard time assuming good intentions because of all the shit people pushing bad agendas by feigning ignorance.
I try to assume the best, but I don’t always make it.
Ok, you’re the third person I’ve heard of that had an accidental britbox subscription. I’m not even sure you have to sit on the remote for that one.
I got on ICQ in 97 or 98 to keep up with friends from a MUD and mine was 7 digits. I haven’t logged into it in over a decade because when I went back to see if anyone from the old game was around none ever showed up online.
