Is there anything i should steer clear of mainboard wise? MSI/TUF gaming? Anything that is overpriced and not necessarily better quality?

What could go wrong when you let an ad company dictate the browser standards/rules.
I know we have Firefox and some forks like librewolf, but percentage wise it feels like a lost battle ( even if I am on Firefox ).
If only people switched en masse to Firefox for the ad blocker. Wouldn’t that be something… One big collective FU to Google.
Oh well. One can dream I guess.
To be honest my steam Deck doesn’t go that far beyond 4h either on a single charge when I lower all the settings.
I guess they might lose customers, but the ad revenue will offset it. Which could be a win for them. Less cars to produce for the same amount of money. If they survive everybody else will probably just follow suit. Like the car functionality subscriptions.
I’m just sad we reached this point.
Ban targeted advertising. Ban data gathering. You won’t even have to deal with the f***ing cookie banners anymore.
I’m guessing maybe the scheduler? Its the only real difference I see versus the other gaming distros.
Can’t say the android phones I’ve used have slowed down over the years ( mainly one plus ). I always stayed away from Samsung and the sort because they add too much bloat.
Not to mention that an update changed the power button to “activate bixby” and the constant harassing OD the Samsung app.
I bought the latest Samsung tablet and its underwhelming compared to the precious Samsung tablet I had. At this point I wish I had bought an iPad instead :/
Dear tiktok,
You don’t have to comply with it. You can also get out of the EU. Trust me, it’s the easiest way.
Bye!
At least the floppy fits in a standard envelope ( as long ad we’re talking about the 3.5" )
They dont need to know any commands.
Everything in Linux is point and click. There’s an app store where you’ll find everything you’ll need. You will not need to open the terminal at all. All drivers will get installed through the OS.
Only things which do not work are the keyboard software and stuff to map macros to your keys and/or mouse buttons ans tweak the colours. Like the Razor software.
Distros like Ubuntu, popos, Linux mint are incredibly beginner friendly. There are, without a doubt, others.
They didn’t need to know any cmd/powershell commands using windows and they definitely don’t need to know how to use a Linux terminal to browse/mail/install software on Linux.
I wish I could actually vote for the pirate party. But I can’t here. Didn’t show up in the election list. They were 2 or elections ago
Huh. Interesting. I’ll give that a try too then :)
Tbh it was kind of my fault. I should’ve used the general updater that comes with nobara by default.
Edit: the devpod issue is a bit weird and not driver related. Its got something to do with SSL when its trying to clone the git repo. But I can run the clone command myself just fine. Honestly the devcontainer hasnt really worked out great for me in combination with jetbrains.
It might work better with vscode, but that editor makes me want to throw my device out the window. All the love to people who use it/enjoy it on a daily basis but it is just not for me.
I ended up with nobara. I might give bazzite a go at one point, but more out of interest. Nobara is treating me just fine!
I ended up with nobara ( KDE ). Though if i had to reinstall I might give bazzite a go.
No hate for nobara though. It’s working fine gaming wise. Had a gfx issue once after an update, which was resolved by just running the nobara system updater.
I have some issues getting devpods to work. But that is completely unrelated to gaming :D
When i see stuff like that I want to buy it. And then I remember I’m not a graphic designer. And unfortunately I’m terrible at any type of layouting or drawing. Be it webdesign or otherwise.
It looks like a great tool though. And very fairly priced.
Here’s a License change which implies we’re datafarming all your assets.
Here’s my word that we’re absolutely not goijf to be doing that. Trust me bro.
I had dabbled in gaming on Linux but never made the jump. After reading about recall I spent a week making my choice on OS of choice ( and then I switched a week after :') ).
I’m fully on Linux now. Even if they fully back down from windows recall I dont need an OS that’s trying to sell me something based on whatever I do in it.
It was my final straw as well.
Edit: and it hasn’t really been bad either. The shader compilation after every gfx driver update is a bit annoying. That’s about it.
I’ll probably run into something at one point. Like some anti cheat that doesn’t work and is preventing me from playing the game.
And this way you’ll be sure the intermediate site isn’t also scraping your data.
Is Windows mobile still a thing? I thought they meant the app in the windows store ( desktop/laptop).
Last time I saw somebody use a windows phone was 10 years afk :/
To them it probably is. I’ve seen literal posts ( or GitHub comments - I forgot ) where they are raging their fps dropped from 420 to 370 with the latest patch and that the game is now completely unplayable!
They have a point complaining because the patch had a big fps drop, but the game is unplayable? At 370fps? Gtfo xD.
There’s people playing on a lot less than that.
