I use water color paint from tubes, you can get stronger colors and mix these differently that typical watercolor sets.

I was thinking it looks like sketching on her face in preparation for tattoos.
I like it. It’s interesting how you have the colors mixed and overlapping.
I’m doing multiple paintings and drawings of this tree. A version with snow is on my list. Thanks
I’m not done with it. Thinking of adding more branches or does what I have represent the tree adequately?
I just noticed the dim lighting on this. I’ll have to turn on more lights next time.
Maybe the wrong mix of green, too.
Funny the top part of the tree with background sky looks lighter and spotty in this picture, but not on the actual paper!
I’m trying out Krita, too (Linux version, I didn’t think it’s that different). I’m tinkering trying different things, drawing lines, filling in between lines I’ve drawn, making shades and textures. Today I tried some watercolor brushes to make a sky and field, they don’t look much like watercolor, though. I’m going to watch more videos on using Krita.

3·1 month agoThis is the same thing with a darkened shadow. I did this my accident in Krita, but I don’t know how I did it.

This looks darker in the picture than it really is.
Did you do the tree and branches first or the snow?

2·2 months agoI like the detail in the rocks, too. Comparing the closer area to the further shore line gives it good perspective. I’m trying to figure that out myself. I think you did well.
Only valuable because originally framed by my wife! 🤣
I think some of that is the photo I took, so slighter than it looks, but I’ll make that a little darker so that doesn’t show. I was trying to make it show different than other areas, and try to make it look more distant above the fog. I had the nearest fog darker before so that added a little more contrast. Thanks for the tip, I’ll see what I can do.

This is what it looked like before I started adding blue and grey to the sky.

Thanks
