I imagine they don’t necessarily always fail explosively. I don’t know how often this stuff actually happens.

Very little. Older versions had already been open-sourced previously. This is specifically version 4.0, and the last version released was 8.0.
Maybe not, I don’t know if EA was handling Star Wars yet.
They can fuck off too
I haven’t bought any EA games in many years as well. I don’t have any EA games in my Steam library, though I probably have some Xbox 360 games around. The only one I know for sure was Rogue Squadron II on Gamecube
If ever there was an industry worth destroying, that’s certainly it.
Proton is not specifically focused on handhelds. It’s definitely an all-platforms thing.
Non-steam games can be added to Steam and run from there. There are also other launchers such as Lutris and Heroic that can help you install, manage, and run games from other marketplaces or other non-standard sources.
IME, there’s very little that won’t run. I don’t have a single game in my Steam library that doesn’t run just fine. The most I’ve had to do to run anything was to try different versions of Proton, and that’s as easy as choosing from a dropdown menu.
Still IMO the greatest French rap album of all time. Fantastic from start to finish.
Lots of TVs will connect to open networks automatically if they are available. If you have any open networks around you, disconnecting them from your own wifi may not be enough.
The parabolas’ focal points are outside of the building, which incidentally is also the best place to be.
Tidal also laid off 10% of their staff in December. Probably not union busting, at least.
Some smart TVs need to be connected before they’ll even start.
The key thing is to make sure you look into that stuff before you buy.
My TV is from the before days, and when it dies I’m not sure what the plan will be. Possibly a large monitor at 3x the price.
… And now it’s dead too.
Isn’t a smurf supposed to be an account from an experienced user/player that’s meant to make them look new or lower ranked?
Smurfing is when a high-level player trolls the lower ranks below their skill level.
Lots of players have smurf accounts for games where high- and low-ranked players don’t get paired together, so they can play on the same team as their lower-ranked friends.
Sort of. It kind of makes sense in that they don’t want you to lie about having a TV that doesn’t work to get a free second TV. If the issue is small enough that it can easily be ignored, it’s not worth replacing. And if it’s a big enough issue that it’s unusable, it shouldn’t bother you to destroy it.
What sucks is that stuff ends up in the landfill most of the time instead of being recycled.
If they don’t want you to ship it back, it’s pretty common for them to ask for some kind of proof of destruction. Back in the days of non-removable cords, they would have you cut the cord off your device or appliance before sending you a replacement.

If you think that’s unwelcoming, applications are even more so. Most people don’t want to fill out an essay just to be allowed to participate.
If I had to fill out an application, I wouldn’t be here, and I’m sure a lot of others wouldn’t be either.
That’s not to say that better methods shouldn’t be implemented though.
