I’m also a Java player, I refuse to touch the Bugrock edition because of all the problems with it. It’s also sad that Bugrock has gotten this bad this the original upside to it that it ran better is far from true anymore.

Basic fixes for this version of the game have been neglected for so long. Yet not a single issue with the micro transactions stays around for long. Just the ones that break the actual core game get left behind.

Oh and for the people who don’t pay attention to the game, here is a list of the new issues.

Bedrock edition has always had dogshit coding though. Could be AI is making it worse or it could be the fact they’ve neglected to fix game breaking bugs for years and all the new buggy code is making it worse.

The Bedrock edition has gained the nickname Bugrock because of how buggy it is. There has been several bugs in the game that just randomly kill the player for literal years. Mojang Redmond is a fucking joke.

A one time fee is fine, that’s perfectly reasonable. But why a subscription? And to a dictionary of all things? I get new words get created and added but I don’t buy a dictionary every year since most words are the same and only a few new ones are added. So again why a subscription, what’s the value of this?

I can’t bring myself to feel bad for these people anymore. They’ve had countless times to realize how they were being taken advantage of but they never did. They have a mountain of evidence so big it makes Olympus Mons look like an anthill. And these people willingly voted to harm others, to dehumanize others, to abuse others. So I can’t even feel bad for them given what they’ve done.

Valve’s fee is more than earned however. Steam as a storefront is highly trusted by users, it has a rock solid reputation that is hard to come by. As a distributor they take a one time fee for each copy sold, then they manage all of the costs from users downloading and downloading again for as long as the platform exists from that one time fee. Meanwhile if a developer were to do that themselves then they pay each time a user wants to download that game.

Sure the developers lose a bit more money than if they sold on another platform. But the higher up front cost to access the larger platform is a very worthwhile trade as can be seen by developers continually coming back.
