Similarly corn ethanol that is added to gas in the US reduces fuel efficiency and increases greenhouse because the corn is made for purpose and subsidized rather than just excess.
The alternatives are reduced greenhouse via reduction of fossil fuel subsidies combined with renewables and infrastructure to mitigate and survive the changes.

With existing infrastructure in much of the US it is currently better to do protected bike lanes and still keep car lanes at least on larger streets. The accident area has parking on both sides, bike lanes on both sides, then two lanes of auto traffic.
Remove the parking make it a protected bike lane and add some sidewalk and bushes.
Having recently driven in Boston, there is seriously lacking safety awareness or enforcement. Narrow winding streets with 20-25mph speed limits have cars careening around at 40+mph. Cars crossing double yellow lines frequently even near hospital areas. I have yet to see anyone pulled over other than on the highway. Ofc the cops drive crazy too…Just getting some speed cameras would probably result in a major improvement. And that is something that was just recently funded/passed very recently. Once they are set up things will at least improve.

A diner is running closer to $10-50 per table meaning 2-10$ tips a table. Means theyd have to turn 10-40 times the tables in the same amount of time for an equivalent tip earning.
Fancy places also tend to have fewer patrons not tip, it still happens of course but it is less common.
Of course, what would you have them use spears, axes, why settle for less than the best in close range medieval weaponry.

I’m probably out of my depth as to how a quantum computer functions but the way you describe it breaking encryption would also be rather useless as well. I had thought it was just a system wherein the code is switched from binary 1/0 to one where you can do +0/1 neutral 0/1 and -0/1 or something like that. If you have to be dealing with individual qubits then it sounds useless.
Basically they have all the utility of a supercomputer. Breaking encryption is a use sure. As is computational chemistry and protein folding and interactions. The reason it can do so is because of the information processing. It doesn’t mean new equations but that the equations that are made can be tested faster. There’s various times where equations to help understand bio/chemistry are limited to remain feasible to use but reduce the precision and accuracy.
