Why are people downvoting? This is huge and should make LLMs more power efficient and memory efficient.
So it isn’t even local private AI but rather just an Interface for NOT-private LLMs like ChatGPT (which specifically stated, at least at first, that all your queries to it and their responses are being monitored and saved by OpenAI)
No problem! Happy to help!

I use Eternity, which is based on the old Infinity app for that other platform
Also, according to a fairly popular clip, “number of incarcerated citizens per capita, and defense spending”.
Wait, so the RISC-V instruction set is open source, but the implementations of these (aka the actual CPUs) may or may not be opensource at discretion of the manufacturers/vendors?

I’ve been having something along those lines as a headcannon too. It makes sense, seeing as evolution takes tens, if not hundreds of thousands of years, while the exponential progress throughout the last few thousand years, or even in the last 200 years or so, is insane. We are still adapted to live as we did in the times of hunter-gatherer nomads or early settlers.
Good to see it put into words.
Couldn’t have put it better myself
Yeah, I use Clickbait Remover, Sponsorblock, Improve Youtube (or ImprovedTube), Distraction-Free Youtube, Return Youtube Dislike, and of course, Ublock Origin, to make Youtube work well for me. That’s 6 extensions, 5 of which are about Youtube only. 5/11 of my extensions are for Youtube Only.
For anyone curious, the others are enhanced-264-ify, User Agent Switcher, Dark Reader, Brave Search and Tabliss.
Omg it’s Computerphile and Dr. Mike Pound! He’s a lecturer at the Uni of Nottingham where I’m studying! Met him and other Computerphile lecturers a few times (I even had some of them as my lecturers) and they’re all a wonderful bunch!
Is Blackrock a major investor in either or both of them?
Not really. They just get replaced by the people leading the revolution (there are exceptions of course, like Robespierre in the French Revolution).
While not necessarily related, this article reminds me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlRxMUb-1MA
From the article, it just seems that RISC-V support was removed from the Android kernel so that it doesn’t become part of future builds of Android, mainly because it is not ready yet. Though the wording from the maintainer that did the patch said the support was “discontinued” which is misleading.
So the article is unintentional clickbait.
Just use “Clickbait remover” it’s a browser extension and I set it to “First word capitalised” and “Grab thumbnail from beginning of video”, and it just works really well.
Indeed. They’re solving our issues for us! Go enshittification!
The article mentions 2 important things: Compressed Battery technology which allows for greater capacity per kg, and The fact that it is currently testing 4-ton aircraft, with the intent of getting to 8-ton by 2027-28. 4-ton aircraft can hold 6-8 passengers and 8-ton aircraft can hold up to 30 passengers, so this tech is still super early.
Something to note is they intend for this Compressed Battery technology to be usable in EVs as well which is imo more important but electric planes make for a more interesting headline, I guess.
Agreed.
