Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You've just won a competition and now a major game developer has to make whatever game you want for free. No compromises. Your vision. Period. What game do you make?
3·21 days agoThat would mean you would accelerate and hurdle astroids between solar systems, starship troopers style?
I like it it.

14·21 days ago“pod”,
A game where you start with one von Neumann machine, and find yourself in a procedural generated solar system. You goal is to learn everything you can from this system and copy yourself then send you and the copy to the next solar system. In time you should find yourself managing a huge amount of pods.
But space isn’t as empty as it seems, some systems are inhabited and will fight you. Preferably those enemies would be procedurally generated too, so that every playthrough is completely unique and weird.

Traditional Art@lemmy.world•Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, who filled the world with polka dots, dead at 97 [Article]English
7·23 days agoI think her work was a lot more then her famed polkadots, I feel like the title doesn’t do her justice.
I saw an overview her work in Bilbao and what struck me the most were a couple of school classes, kids aged maybe 7 or 8 who really loved her work and were all sitting down in the gallery space absorbing it 🤗😊
I chuckled at the “do you really want to leave” warning when I was trying to go back 🥲

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•The AI boss at a San Francisco store just fired its first human
61·1 month agoThis is such incredible bullshit and hype that it shouldn’t even have been put out there
Conversation logs between the lab and Luna show that the agent had created an attendance policy but later lost track of it, allowing the employee’s lateness to continue for months. Andon Labs eventually asked Luna to search her memory for its policies and assess whether the worker was still a good fit.
So what happened was, the ‘agentic’ or auptocomplete-on-a-loop fucked up, as all such systems do. Then a human went in to get things running again and nudged the system to make a decision. This is not science, this is not even an experiment this is just a way to pass the time and fuck around.

7·2 months agoAre the Epstein Files in the wildfire smoke? No? Then let the fire department do their job and bring the child-molester-in-chief to justice. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to bring back those environmental laws you abolished.
