Expensive watches are for men who can’t admit they want to wear a bracelet.
Pocket watches were standard for men for just this readon until WWI when wristwatch convenience helped coordinate timing more efficiently.
Aren’t those things, at least in part, a way to carry lots of wealth on you quite conveniently?
…and folks who can admit it but also want that bracelet to be an unnecessarily complex Rube Goldberg machine of gears and springs…
