Is there finally about to be a Brexit dividend? The EU & US are placing tariffs on Chinese EVs, but Britain isn’t. So British drivers will soon have a welcome choice. Cheap well-made Chinese EVs whose EV charging means they travel 100 kilometres for a third of the price an average combustion engine car does.
Yet another death knell for fossil fuels and combustion engine cars.
IDK here in Denmark it’s kr149.995,- DKK including 25% VAT.
That’s only £17.154,- GBP, so more than £3000,- cheaper!
https://www.bydauto.dk/modeller/byd-dolphin-surfDolphin Surf is the European version of Seagull.
Despite the link you post has it starting at £18.650,- GBP, that’s still more expensive than in EU apparently.
Maybe it’s more expensive because instead of having the steering wheel to drive in the right side, UK has it to drive in the wrong side?UK has it to drive in the wrong side?
Those are fighting words
Just kidding. 😋
But not many countries drive on the left. And I don’t think these are sold in Thailand and Japan, so basically this car made for left side driving is probably only for UK.BYD is getting big in Australia, which drives on the left. They don’t sell the Seagull here though.
Arbitrary new ‘safety’ regulations in 3,2,1…
Meh. I don’t have issues with tarriffs on china but I do for free countries. I wish tarriffs were setup and adjusted yearly based on a combination of our free and democratic a nation is as well as how well it complies to local regulation and lastly with wealth disparity. Or something like that. Granted that would have decently high tarrifs on the us this millenia.
