When eight men in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement boarded a plane in May, officials told them that they were being sent on a short trip from Texas to another ICE facility in Louisiana.

Many hours later, the plane landed in Djibouti. The men were held in shipping containers for weeks, shackles on their legs. This past weekend, they were expelled to the violence-plagued nation of South Sudan.

This deception, revealed by an Intercept investigation, highlights the lengths to which the U.S. government will go to further its anti-immigrant agenda and deport people to so-called third countries to which they have no connections.

The propaganda might scare a lot of people, but physically Russia is gonna have a hell of hard time gaining any sort of ground in Europe.

I say that as a Finnish person, ready to put boots on the ground should Vanja try to make a move.

The scary part is they’re really fucking good in disinfo and misinfo. Fucking Lemmy is crawling with them.

I would just much rather have peace. War is such fucking waste of humanity in general. Resources and people (yes, even the orcs.)

A lot of those bots and propagandists really are slaves, not just traitors. There’s an NPR episode about it.

You’d be surprised the effect on young people.

I don’t think I would be. They’re really good at spycraft, isolationism, and killing anyone even remotely seen as disloyal.

I’ve found the most efficient way to recognise any Russians on Lemmy is just to ask them to verify whether they think Putler’s a douche. And also not let them get away with vague shit like “oh yeah all world leaders are”, because then they’re not condemning Putin, who has an ICC warrant out for him for warcrimes.

                The education and social pressure.

But hey please link a document if you’ve got one I’m not afraid of seeing whether I’m correct about being surprised.

100%, you’re right. They really cannot criticze Putin. I do pretty good by just demanding they argue in good faith, and whatever their scripts are, they refuse to do so. I think it’s intentional “crazy making” behavior. I’ve also had success asking “Are you a slave? NPR says bots like you are slaves. Do you need help?” And I often get blocked, they delete their comments, and/or refuse to engage. And those guys engage on EVERYTHING.

I just more meant that a lot of younger people (eg 18 or so) have been propagandized and made antisocial from these online interactions from my experiences. Stuff like blowing up irl over the use of the word ‘colonizer’ even in factual historical context, as if it’s a swear word? Or like the way they treat women, or question if Anne Frank was real. Shit that you’re like- how tf do you think this way? I’ve NEVER heard people say the Anne Frank thing irl or even online until this year. We read about the poor girl’s period for Christ’s sake. The propaganda campaigns are just really hard on them especially, plus many of them are poor and wanna be influencers that take easy psyop money.

Want to tack on that wars really only benefit the wealthy who don’t fight them. They are a trick they get us to do to thin the herd, especially of other men, and steal the things we leave behind. Self defense is understandable but it’s good to be suspicious of who really wins these things.

So you think know me well enough to think the nonsense you spew could piss me off? Kiddo, you don’t readily know shit. And while your take on politics exemplifies this, your take on me solidifies it.

You don’t piss me off. You disappoint me. You have everything at your fingertips. Everything you could possibly need to know better- and you willfully choose to ignore it and instead, use the very thing that could have educated you- as a tool to spread ignorance.

So no, you don’t piss me off at all. You don’t have that kind of power over me.

            I pity you.

international law don’t apply to Western nations. US is reviving the slave trade trafficking shackled people in shipping containers, and Israel is straight up partaking in high sea piracy to stop aid.

At least this is a reminder that we cannot rely on America to do the right thing and police the world. Since WW2 the world has looked to them as a shining light, and now that has all ended and a dark age will begin for America.

The rest of the world will figure out its order and some new leadership will emerge.

Central Africa has good prospects: a young and energetic population, an increasingly educated population, economic growth. They look like North America at the beginning of the 20th Century. Some will win and some will lose but they have what it takes to take the lead

I call BS. Why would they bother lieing. It isn’t like the 8 guys could tell anyone after they got on the plane. Even if they did, it isn’t a “length to which the gov will goto” because it did nothing to impact what they could do at all. Probably some AI slop

I’ll be the last person to defend Trump, his cabinet members or his policies. But looking at that link, it’s clearly not a shipping container, even though the words are used in the article.

        It’s actually this: https://www.willscot.com/en/entertain-host

Container offices, which are clearly not meant to house people in, but aren’t shipping containers either.

I appreciate the nuance. Looking at your link, they also sell shipping containers too that definitely look like an average shipping container to me. I tried to find a picture of the Africa container or an article saying what the brand is, and had no luck. However, it’s possible they are the same company and containers, but not proven. Either way, it got to be above 100*F in Africa for weeks (iirc some articles said 120) and those aren’t meant to be inhabited, for that long, and in that heat especially. They have been wanting to do the shipping containers from the get go because it makes it easy to traffick people long distances, imo.

For sure, this regime is staffed with people who have lost all capacity for empathy, probably due to their troubled upbringing. So it would not be past these folks to use actual shipping containers. They could not care less.

Emphatically, and I can’t stress this enough, many of these people are probably serial killers including Trump. Epstein and Ghilisaine regularly threatened a woman they owned with murder if she said anything. The entitlement they think they have to rape someone, especially a child, is the same entitlement they have for directly murdering a person. These people are the type to MAKE snuff, not JUST watch it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump has killed a kid for sexual gratification - EPSTEIN said Trump was so depraved there was nothing he wouldn’t do, on the Fire&Fury Michael Wolff Epstein episode podcast. And per Katie Johnson, Epstein brutally anally and vaginally raped her - so what does he think is “depraved?”

We elected fucking DAHMER and BUNDY types to our government. It’s very bad…!
