Independents are now the majority of voters at about 40%, D and R 30% each. I think it’s because more and more people are rejecting our two-party system in the only legal way they can, anti-incumbency may be the new norm (I am an “I”).
I am surprised that so many voted for Trump. A combination of contempt of government and news ignorance? If any voters “feel duped” I think the only explanation is that they are news-free people for whatever reason. Some people cannot deal.
