You should consider posting at [email protected].

Make sure to include the thread and the modlog so people can see the whole context.

Personally I think you were very rude and got what you deserved but other commenters that did the same went unpunished which makes it a bit unfair.

that’s like the lemmy mod MO.

rules for thee but none for me(and my buddies).

I have never had problems with mods applying the rules to my comments or posts.

I DO have a problem when they selectively apply the rules and even outright ban you for reporting content that breaks the same rules you were silenced over.

this is why I want a platform that removes mod power to censor.

What examples of this platform exist now? Even 4chan censors illegal material (eventually)

there are none because it’s counter to existing social media platform control and monetization.

you can read more from my comments on another post.

to summary, I believe that a community must self regulate and mods should be a mechanism for when that process fails. they would get restorative powers instead of destructive. system owners would be responsible for content moderation based on reporting for illegal content. users are silenced instead of banning.

Ok, so something like slashdot’s old metamoderation? But even then they still had active moderators

Or perhaps old school news groups with NNTP?
