Ex-congressmanās Powered by People fundraised for lawmakers who left state to prevent redistricting vote
A Texas judge has expanded a restraining order against former congressman Beto OāRourke and his political organization over its fundraising for Democratic state lawmakers who left Texas to prevent a legislative session on congressional redistricting.
Tarrant county judge Megan Fahey, a member of the conservative Federalist Society and past president of the Fort Worth Republican Womenās Club, said in a four-page order published on Saturday that OāRourke and his political group, Powered by People, are barred from sending money out of Texas.
Fahey found that āharm is imminent to the State, and if the Court does not issue this order, the State will be irreparably injuredā because ādefendantsā fundraising conduct constitutes false, misleading, or deceptive acts under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Actā.
Sounds like those of us outside of Texas should pitch in because FUCK YOU. I guess money is free speech only when it benefits Republicans.
Thatās purely how Republicans work, when something benefits them then itās perfectly okay, but once anyone else benefits then itās suddenly the worst thing ever done by a human. Itās absolutely disgusting how theyāll do it to your face and then deny they ever benefited from it before.
