I am american. I am old enough to have watched two invasions of iraq, afghanistan, cuban military crisis, blowback from choices in vietnam, and current support of genocide and countless other nonsense.

That we are 100% volunteer is my EXACT point. People with the access to the same knowledge I have still join because why? I can only assume it’s because they are still children. A deplorable thing our nation relies on: youth’s unfinished brain development.

I spend more time in my community helping in ways I can such as being a first responder, working in healthcare, feeding people, etc.

None of which kills brown children across the globe. All of which helps local people.

I truly, honestly, cannot see why anyone would stay in as an adult let alone join the military.

If you’re as old as you say you are and have forgotten what you were as a youth, shame. You’ve lost your barometer and I can’t help you recalibrate.

oh no. I mean to say I understand the formula and how. I guess my rhetorical argument is more sarcastic “could i beeee any more obtuse?”

I just … ugh. I hate the system that has been built. I hope the ways to help people OUT of it improve!

Well good luck gaining any real momentum without the people’s army at least sympathetic to your cause. Seems like a futile endeavor to me.
