I remember seeing these in malls, and I didn’t think they were a game back then, either.

I mean, maybe this one actually is a game somehow, but… what a thing to take your inspiration from.

I loved coin pushers as a child. More so than every other gambling game in arcades.

I still like coin pushers. The few times I’ve been to arcades (the non good kinds) I’ve had fun with the coin pushers. Not the same fun as a child but still.

Most of the coin pushers on steam suck. Coin Push RPG is halfway decent. I’ve played enough to get my money’s worth.

I have this game wishlisted. I’m sure it won’t be the same as a kid but hopefully the extras will make it fun.

As a side note on the gambling thing, I sometimes play the lottery but I definitely have a problem with gambling. I stay away from real gambling as a rule. I know myself.

I think it’s genius. The machines are a dopamine bomb. Seeing the coins makes you think you can strategize, and the connection between action and winning is much more visceral and feels more controllable than a slot machine or other casino games. I have similar memories of seeing them in the arcade and thinking they were very tempting, but no way worth putting in real coins.

A game done well is going to be extremely addictive, but if done in the service of a full, fun, not-micro transaction-pushing format, I fully support it. I think it’s going to be huge.
