It is fairly common for certain types of head trauma to be followed up with personality changes depending on the severity and type of brain injury, usually frontal lobe damage. A lot of people become more paranoid and angry, which often leads to their political views leaning to the far right.
I had a traumatic head injury that required brain surgery as a child and it’s never lead to any of those kinds of symptoms, but it wasn’t anything involving the frontal lobe.
