Because this is violence that is not acceptable to the ruling class. It is violence against the ruling class. The first grader is a child of the working class. That type of violence is what is “acceptable” to people like Charlie Kirk.

That’s what his famous quote about accepting a number of gun deaths every year actually means. He was never including himself in that context.

These people tell you what they believe. You just need the lense of class conflict to view their words through.

Just like Luigi, they still bring him up from time to time. 9ish school shooting this year in the USA, but but but Luigi!

My prediction is that those who would normally seek the infamy that school shooters used to receive will see the amount of attention people have given this case and the healthcare CEO’s murder and murdering public figures will become the new trend.

Yep there’s a whole underground movement of people that are basically pro-school shooting online. They consider themselves part of the lineage that started with the Columbine shooters. It’s sick shit, but nobody has done a damned thing to tamper down on it and like other fringe groups they’ve found each other online and are networking.

Media coverage about school shooters became somewhat better in that they at least don’t get into every seedy detail about the lives of the killers, but this other type of killer has been seeing a different type of coverage entirely. It stands to reason that they’ll start to see this as the better path toward infamy.

I was reading about those groups and they seem to be an intentional project by neonazis more than a genuine underground movement. The movement is actually a front for drawing in and weaponizing people, mostly lonely and depressed children.

There’s some Lemmy commenters who say “Well Kirk was a big deal where we get school shootings every day” and it’s fucking maddening.

“Moved on by now” here means “probably wouldn’t even have heard about it.” At least we can take comfort knowing that, unlike the first-grader, Charlie would’ve surely been proud to know he was a sacrifice on the altar of the Second Amendment.

Matthew Silverstone and another minor remain hospitalized, they were both shot at school the same day as Kirk. Their attacker was a right wing radicalized 16 year old who followed white supremicist ideology. I will not name said person. Only that they were following neo-nazis white supremacists and that may be reflected in who they chose to target. But not a peep anywhere and it appears no updates in a few days.

Uh, haven’t you heard? Calling Nazis what they are is the ACTUAL thing that causes violence. It’s not the Nazis. They are just giving very “common sense” political views.

I wish this wasn’t what actual people in the media are saying but it is. I’m losing my mind listening to it. I need to read some Parenti or something to bring some sanity back to my head. I can’t keep listening to this media “debate”.
