This is the type of statement to commend. It’s a big risk for Seth to openly step away from AIPAC, as they may try to primary him for doing so. Hopefully this will encourage others in leadership positions to follow suit.

This also shows that the pressure we are putting on is working. I believe this same pressure should be kept up, and we should continue to give politicians the chance to walk away from these pro-Israel PACs or face being primaried if they do not.

Apparently not the only one, according to the article:

As flagged by New York Times reporter Annie Karni, Moulton is now the fourth Democratic lawmaker who once received heavy support from AIPAC to reject their donations, following Reps. Morgan McGarvey (D-Ky.), Deborah Ross (D-NC), and Valerie Foushee (D-NC).

AIPAC has become a toxic brand, tainted by its association with Israel’s genocide. And perhaps politicians are beginning to realize this.

If I was running I would not turn down something. Just don’t be realiant on it. If anything any big donations should be put into investments and use it like a political trust fund. If they want to threaten your funding tell them to suck it.

Bottom line it’s a message to your voters. obviously if you don’t play ball they will cut that funding out next cycle… but just imagine in a hypothetical world with voters that actually do bare minimum research. They see you are taking AIPAC money, they use that information to decide whether or not to vote for you.

Of course the reality is the average voter isn’t educated, won’t take the time to look up who is funding their candidate, in which case the only way to publicly announce to your voters that you aren’t beholden to a group, is to publicly reject the money and issue a press release, like this one we are looking at right now.
