Dude you’re on lemmy there ain’t that many folks who would disagree with the observation that Trump isnt the source, but you’re missing the tree for the forest. To use an analogy we are looking at a crackhead pouring diesel on a massive trash pile and rather than focusing on stopping the crackhead from starting a massive inferno you are accusing folks of incompetents because they want to focus on the crackhead rather than discuss the massive trash pile that predates everyone present.
Yes Trump is a symptom but he is also an accelerant who is making a shit situation far far worse. He is piss turned into white phosphorus. We could discuss the source issue for decades and never come to a conclusion, was it Bush, or Reagan, or Nixon, or Wilson, or the failures of reconstruction, or even the founding of the Virginia colony to begin with, but that doesn’t really matter whatever the sources a lot of them are dead and buried the best we can do is deal with the problem in front of us.
