How much will betting market manipulation, once integrated into the news, become its own power-serving self-fulfilling prophecy?

    Yes… therealnews.com

Must be totally real, and not just cherry picking ONE of millions of bets possible on a prediction market

The headline could also be: “CNN partners with Kalshi, a gambling app that lets you wager on whether or not Donald J. Trump will shit himself on live TV.”

Wouldn’t your proposed headline also be noteworthy, inappropriate, and worrisome? Not at the same level, surely, but it doesn’t make the idea sound good.

The problem here is the normalization and promotion of a product that turns human suffering and shame into entertainment and cash. It happens a lot throughout history and it is bad every time. It is morally wrong to profit from the suffering of others.

the point is the headline is misleading and cherrypicking… the real problem here is a journalistic outlet partnering with a gambling app. full stop.

there is no need to steer the conversation toward israel. there are a million things we can talk about to criticize israel… pushing a story about CNN and a gambling app into an israel discussion is unnecessary and lacks journalistic integrity.

which is the other point of my post… why the fuck are people getting their news from therealnews.com? why not thebestnews.com? or onlyrealnews.com?

“oh but the mainstream media is bad!”, is the same energy that the MAGA people spout when they get all their news from shit-tier right-wing blogs. just because you agree with a blog post, doesn’t make it a good source of news.
