My reading: new legislation that will kick the voter in the metaphorical balls will go into effect after the next election, when presumedly the Democrats will be in charge. Voters will be kicked in the balls and blame the party in charge for their pain. This is despite the Republicans being the ones who passed the ball-kicking legislation.

Thank you. Yeah, legislation like that can be easily be stopped. Proof: Trump’s already done it, i.e. the inflation reduction act. Just undo it and call it what it is, an unjust act on the citizens, by an illegitimate administration.
