I get the self deprecating joke about his height, but Peter could have done a better job evenly distributing the ornaments. This looks like a toddler “helped” decorate the tree while mom was in the attic looking for the box of lights.
I don’t think he posted this as far as I can tell, so it’s just a joke about his height and not a self deprecating one.
It makes you wonder who even took the picture, since it’s angled down at the tree. Maybe it’s just a joke we can laugh at and move on from?

It’s loading with bottom-up model.
He has LOD order precedence/scaling set in a manner that makes sense for his use case.
I would imagine possibly also oclusion face culling as well, given that the tree is practically unobservable from many angles, for users with uh, other rendering configurations… so long as they obey the laws of physics.
