While I do think they should join Canada I wouldn’t argue with your point - the balance of power would almost certainly shift immediately in the province’s favour. Like. It wouldn’t really be Canada anymore but hopefully some really worthwhile cultural osmosis would take place.

Probably better to keep California, Washington and Oregon independent and to instead try to setup something like the schengen zone for California, Washington, Oregon, Mexico, Canada, and whatever East Coast regions join up.
