Are you a Rays fan? I’m genuinely curious and I dont know any Rays fans IRL. Not trying to be rude or rub it in.
But do you think the current Rays squad has made any waves in terms of expanding the fan base? I was kinda shocked when I heard they only sold like 20k tickets for each playoff game. I know they’re an expansion team and the Trop kinda sucks, but I figured the fan base would expand a little bit since they’ve been consistently good for over a decade.
It just seems like they’re on a fast track to getting relocated or something. If the team they have right now can’t sell out the stadium for couple playoff games, I don’t see how they ever will.
I read somewhere that the plans for a new stadium got approved or something. So that might help, because the Trop certainly isn’t. The new stadium will be built in roughly the same area, but supposedly it’s not easy accessible so I’ve some people doubt it will help.

Edit: not a Rays fan lol
They only sold 20k tickets???
Yeah, attendance for game 1 was 19k, 20k for game 2. That’s abysmal. Sucks for the players because they are actually really good.
