Really? They had like 3 good albums 30 years ago. Anything remotely recent has been the worst dogshit I’ve attempted to listen to.

I agree with this completely. But for me, those 3 albums are better than almost everything else.

Which 3 SP albums do I like? Gish, Siamese Dreams, and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Siamese Dream is my favorite of the 3 and “Geek USA” is probably my favorite song of all time.

The 4th album Adore has a couple good songs but that’s when their style started to change and they started breaking up. Chamberlain left prior to this album for personal reasons then Wretzky and Iha left bc Corgan is a dick.

Chamberlain and Iha have come back recently, I think but Wretzky HATES Corgan and will never work with him again.

So why do I like those albums so much? Mainly Jimmy Chamberlain. He doesn’t get enough credit for his talent. He’s the reason I fell in love with those albums to begin with.

Those are my three as well. I think Siamese Dream is probably my favorite too. I think I’d go with Today as my favorite song. Interesting about the band drama… I’ve never known anything about them other than their music and that Corgan is a crazy infowarrior type.

Iha and Wretzky didn’t get along with Corgan.

Apparently, Corgan wouldn’t let them play their own parts when recording the album. He did all guitar and bass parts himself.

Fair enough. I probably came off as an asshole in my comment, I was just genuinely surprised someone could keep them as a favorite band after the last few albums they released. They were just awful.

As you get older, the present begins to leave less and less of an impression… Making the past more vivid in your mind (ie the good old days). So OP is probably 40+…
