Most people who supported neoliberalism did it because of: The dotcom boom helping the economy. The reduction in crime. 1 would have happened no matter what, but neoliberals took credit and said the only reason it happened was not taxing the wealthy. 2 also would have happened without their crime bill, the only effect was the same ever country saw a generation after banning leaded gas. Neoliberalism has never worked, and it will never work. They just take credit for anything good that happens.
