Oh ffs. I’m so tired of the “I’m just asking questions” bullshit.

Don’t have Nazis on your podcast.

You were an OK governor. You’ll never be president. Real change will never come from a career politician.

He vetoed legal psychedelics, unemployment pay for striking workers, repeatedly ignored COVID restrictions, maintained a relationship with AIPAC, and did photo ops throwing out the only possessions of homeless people.

Yeah. My bar for “OK” is pretty low.

Actively standing against Trump probably gets him more credit than it should, but given the landscape, I’m sticking with it.

Perfection cannot be the enemy of progress.

trump bad is still all these establishment politicians got because they 100% still expect Business As Usual the second he croaks from 1 too many cheeseburgers or trips down the stairs of AF1

what annoys me most is that this aggressive posturing in front of cameras, claiming they’re protecting cities while then going behind closed doors and greenlighting them to go ham on poor areas, will probably work wonders in securing the square community

This is a great point. I think overt polarization is a major issue, because it means other bad actors get really far with something as simple as “trump bad”.

i don’t think trump is even really the center-piece in that respect, it’s goddamn braindead sacks of fear and hate that Murdoch’s empire makes, that everyone sane is so afraid of. as long as his conservative propaganda machine is running these idiots will continue getting louder and louder as they feel empowered. fox news is the single most watched program in the country…it’s insane.

interacting with these people irl is honestly terrifying, they’re in a cult and you can see the moment their programming takes hold in real time.

and that’s not changing anytime soon, the grifters and empowered racists push the overton window further right that i’m not even sure it taking out Fox News could stop it now (in theory, Fox News is in a very precarious position right now. his dauvhters want to sell the business off for scraps, his 1st son wants to continue the family business of spreading hate)

Refusing to vote for pro-genocide, pro-homeless-persecution candidates isn’t “perfection”, it’s basic human empathy. I could probably give a pass on the other points for political purposes.
