Schumer’s next “strongly worded letter” needs to be one of resignation. Let someone with a spine be in charge

There should be a cutoff age for politicians. Man’s in his mid 70s, he should be at home enjoying his family, not acting as an anchor on the “fascism is actually bad” party.

His family is his wife Iris Weinshall, Rudy Giuliani’s Transportation Commissioner. Notorious for suing the city in 2011 to try and force the removal of the flagship two-way protected bike lane on Prospect Park West. She’s currently the COO of the New York Public Library (Mamdani has been mayor for nearly a month and the NYPL leadership page still lists Adams as mayor. Ironic, he spent a lot of energy trying to destroy NYPL).

The geriatric out of touch pushovers aren’t going to term limit themselves out of office, they won’t pass a term limit. It’ll require a full purge of these geezers with younger politicians to be able to get that passed. Unless we get an influx of younger candidates willing to implement term limits, we’re stuck like this.

Of course they won’t, there are very few Cincinnatti amongst us, and the nature of power and money is that it tends to accumulate over time. I don’t know how any society gets out of the trap of gerontocracy.
