At this point its safe to assume anyone voluntarily buying a Tesla is a Nazi.

Its also safe to assume every single sensor and camera on a Tesla gets all its data sent to the Feds to spy on US citizens (and citizens of other countries). Its a spyware AI camera on wheels.

Don’t forget the potential for weaponizing computer controlled driving. You know they will.

A family of migrants get into their Tesla. The doors lock and the lack of mechanical door handles renders them useless. The family is trapped. Autodrive kicks in and the family are autodriven to ICE detention centre. The drive by wire steering disables the wheel and the family is trapped.

They should let the EVs in but also should have some heavy regulations for reparability, data privacy and be free from manufacturer kill switch.

Is anyone really looking at these?

Or this will just turn into Chinese surveillance trap like their networking products.

AVON LAKE, Ohio, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Trump administration officials said on Friday that Canada would regret its decision to allow China to import up to 49,000 Chinese EVs, and that those cars would not be allowed to enter the United States.

The author is an idiot if they think “Trump administration officials” = US.

It’s pretty normal in journalism to substitute the name of the country for its administration.

You do have a point though: with the current admin basically living on social media, constantly ranting without oversight, it is unclear to what extent the statements of one or two officials are representative of the admin as a whole, or even “official”.
