They always enable fascists because they prefer fascism to socialism. The American people are left with a choice, either revolution, or submission. Fascism is the inevitable end point of capitalism. Power and wealth concentrates at the top while the rest of society is starved of resources, and those at the top use those resources to get the working class to fight amongst themselves, by blaming their failures on minority groups.
I think they’re saying it not an end point, its cyclical. As momentum for revolution builds, fascism kind of comes in and kills the momentum and rewrites the history. And then it ultimately crumbles on its own weight and we go back to regular old capitalism for a while.
We need to preserve our history and use the fascist momentum to fuel the fires of revolution.

I would argue that fascism is the ultimate tool for capitalism, for the reasons that you outline.

Capitalism can never end any other way than with fascism. Human greed requires it.
