    There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

    If there was outrage from their base. I wouldn’t think the above is true.

      I can’t parse your comment.

      The outrage from the base comes from ICE killing white people, because white people are the in-group that the law protects.

        The gadson flying 2A folks aren’t outraged at her comments because the laws do not bind them. The capital was sacked and they all were pardoned. There’s going to be a record number of pardons handed out.

          But, the article is about how some of them are outraged. I’m just providing an explanation as to why - it’s because their in-group is “white male gun owners” and they’re outraged because the in-group was attacked.

              They’re not homogeneous, for sure. Many of them support killing liberal gun owners because they’re liberals, white men included.

              The ones who don’t, though, specifically only oppose this because he’s a white man. The Republicans that are pushing back on his killing would be silent if Pretti was a Black man, or a Somali refugee, or trans, or anything else other than a white man.
