Sure, but the fun of it is that for almost as long as Trek has existed, others have had fun speculating the “what if” between them.

Fabulous hair aside, he and Spock didn’t get enough time in that era to “hit it off” like Kirk/Spock.
I mean, slash fiction exists because of those 2.
And honestly, that early Spock was a very different character. He came off as way more “alien.”
They still had to work out a few kinks early on, if you know what I mean.
I do appreciate how SNW gave added dimension to the TOS episode with Pike in the chair. You really get why Spock was willing to disobey orders and risk his career for him.
