Judge Fred Biery lambasts Trumpās āill-conceived and incompetently-implementedā mass deportation campaign
A federal judge has ordered the release of a five-year-old boy and his father who were detained by federal immigration agents from their driveway in suburban Minneapolis and sent to a detention center in Texas.
In his ruling on Saturday, District Judge Fred Biery delivered a brutal assessment of Donald Trumpās mass deportation campaign and an āill-conceived and incompetently-implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotasā that appears to require ātraumatizing children.ā
Liam Conejo Ramos was taken into federal custody from the driveway of his familyās home last week after officers arrested his father Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, who is seeking asylum in the United States. They were sent to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Texas, where the preschooler is reportedly sick, lethargic and asking for his mother, according to his family and lawmakers who visited him this week.
The judge condemned the administrationās apparent āignorance of an American historical document called the Declaration of Independenceā and Thomas Jeffersonās warnings against āa would-be authoritarian king over our nascent nation.ā
He quoted āJesus wept.ā Hardly inappropriate.
No religion belongs in the courtroom. It is by definition inappropriate and he should be punished for this.

You act like thereās ever been separation of church and state. There has not.
All states so indeed still have some theocratic elements. That is precisely why religion should be given no quarter, it already more prominence in goverment than it ever deserved.
Freedom of religion in most states is just placing religious people above rules that bind everyone else, religious people donāt need the addition of lax enforcement of the few guidelines that exist to expand their extreme unearned privilege.
Youāre arguing what should be. I would argue the same. Weāre explaining what is.

Honestly, its mind numbing. Good intent should be respected no matter from which culture or religion is coming from. Divided we fall, united we stand.
