Democrat Taylor Rehmet won a special election for the Texas state Senate on Saturday, flipping a reliably Republican district that President Donald Trump won by 17 points in 2024.

Given the reason and opportunity, they will vote Republic卐n

You can keep telling yourself that, but with more than two dozen districts flipped this year, the evidence for your point of view seems to be lacking. (At least from where I’m sitting.)

They are voting this way because the policies they wanted from TЯ☭mp are affecting them in their everyday lives.

For example, they see their precious second amendment rights being stripped right in front of their eyes (Alex Pretti). Republicans can’t have that happen. They’d have one less god to worship.

If Trump was a communist, that would be nice, but no, I genuinely don’t know what you’re saying here.

I’d guess that either they think communism = all things bad (because they have no clue what communism is), or they think Trump is on Putin’s side and they didn’t notice that Russia hasn’t been communist for 35 years now. The most charitable reading is that they think Trump is authoritarian and that the USSR was not so much communist as an authoritarian dictatorship despite its communist rhetoric. That last one is at least debatable, but it requires more nuance than is probably there in sticking a hammer and sickle in the middle of Trump’s name.

The USSR was a socialist country, and was democratic, so I really don’t know what to make of their comment to be honest.

Well, when you refuse to answer direct questions about what you mean, you’re going to see a lot of interpretation. You could try being less of an ass.

Your childish understanding of politics is perfectly congruent with the immaturity evident in your behavior

Guy who thinks Trump is a communist also acts like an insufferable child, go figure
