As you are on lemmy.today, which federates with fedinsfw.app (https://lemmy.today/instances), you should be able to subscribe to (join) communities on fedinsfw, e.g. [email protected] (https://lemmy.today/c/[email protected]) .
Maybe you need to unblock visibility of posts flagged as nsfw to see any content in the spicy communities.
