Going to try to change our grocery habits so we use the small local stores more than the corporate stores.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

Happy Friday! Today I’m having fun making mixtapes with the reel to reel deck I found at the thrift shop recently. Amazing how good it sounds for a 50+ year old machine and tapes. I just love how mechanical and analogue it is.

I had to watch a documentary last night. It was a bit slow, so I started playing with the play-doh kit. I particularly like the second one.

We’re lucky that we have several. We’ll probably frequent one of the Hispanic stores, but we also have some Asian markets, and a couple of Halal and African markets.

There is a C-Town sorta-close. It’s still a chain, but C-Town is more like a franchise than a top-down grocery chain; the idea is that each store can tailor its products to their locality, which makes it a perfect model for immigrant communities.

There’s also an Indian store that, if you ever want to experience choice paralysis, has every type and brand of rice ever grown.

I just made the Saturday post! It’s 5:30 here. What is a Russian roll?

A Russian Sausage is a South African imitation of the Polish Kielbasa that was adapted by early European immigrants in South Africa. So a Russian Roll is pretty much a Hot Dog Roll but with a Russian Sausage instead
