I don’t disagree with any of your points, it’s just news to me that “Anglo” is also used to mean “anyone who speaks English”.

It’s just a very weird way to use it, objectively. And arguably carries an insane amount of implicit racism. But hey, in the interest of understandability I will start referring to you all as the Former British Empire. Guessing that will go down much better.
