About 18 years ago we were pretty well covered: deductible wasn’t bad. But other people talked about first year supplies. You also have multiple doctor visits so even if it’s just deductible it starts adding up. Then we had an allergy thing where special food was $1,400/month - luckily we only had to pay a few months while arguing with insurance

Then we arrive at today. All those years of kid expenses made it tough to save, but now we have college expenses and the current administration is cutting financial aid

Aside from the obvious questions everyone else is posting …. How is this even relevant? Saudi Arabia mainly exports oil, but US uses almost no oil products for generating electricity. Unless data centers start installing their own generators (please no) for full time power, it’s a non-starter. What electrical utility does s going to build an oil burning generator plant?

Now that cigarettes are finally going away, it was nice to breathe fresh air for a bit, but it’s getting worse again. There are so many cannabis options that don’t ruin other people’s enjoyment of the outdoors, can’t smoking just go away entirely?

There’s this one bench area on our town common that permanently reeks of pot smoking. It’s outside, no one around, yet it still stinks. And it stinks enough that walking g by on the sidewalk is unpleasant.

Or that riverwalk, where we can enjoy brief experiences of nature in between all the islands of pot smoke.

Another reason to look forward to electric vehicles! Imagine a world 20 years from now where the noise is vanishing, the gasoline/deisel smell is only for the diehards going to that one remaining service station that still sells it, no more visible emissions from cars or rolling coal!

I wish them great success. Not only were they greatly wronged, which could cost future jobs, but in the rush for clicks, too many streamers think that freedom of speech also means free from the consequences of their words. That needs to change

Same here. Never any noticeable performance issues. I’m happy with this choice, given low cost, energy efficiency, stability. I also like that I can dedicate the hardware to HA, whereas I’d be tempted to share if I had a more capable box

However I only have a couple dozen devices and don’t attempt to run anything intensive like voice processing, image recognition, or any sort of media streaming.

Seriously. I replaced my wireless with a mesh during COVID. I spent way too much to get WiFi6 when it was new, now 5 years later …

Wifi7 is available, it is only gigabit Ethernet, and most importantly some promised features were never delivered and it never really got stable. I’m ready to replace it

I may update Ethernet to 2.5g first
