Use lemmyverse.net, set your home instance there (home icon), then search
Thanks! I’ll def add it to my list.
Thanks! I will definitely check those out. Really appreciate it.
If only they would spin back up their photo library feature they cut from plex into it’s own app so I can remove my reliability on google photos.
BEWARE
If your community is on an instance that is still on 0.17.4 and you edit the display name of your community via a remote moderator (i.e. a moderator that has a home instance other than the instance of your community), your community will be subject to the remote moderator bug and you will become undiscoverable until your instance updates to 0.18+
They also merged a potential fix to cross-instance federation syncing issues.
Issue: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3101
Referenced in the bottom of that thread is a link to the potential fix (linked by Nutomic). Here is a direct link:

So as much as we all are focused on just the captcha, they are likely focused on getting some other things sorted out as well. The devs did mention that they were happy to get 0.18 out before reddit 3rd party apps died, so I’m pretty hopefully they will release 0.18.1 this week. They also said after 0.18 that maintenance updates wouldn’t take as long.
Yeah, there is an option to filter your search by community. That helps filter out the tiny community line among all the posts.
I believe this is a cross Instance sync issue that is affecting many communities. BE (back end) update 0.18 is coming with some major changes and the rollout is tomorrow.
OR…this could be that if you were the first to pull the community into the aussie.zone instance that only content/comments from this point forward will be synced. I read that somewhere. Instances must pull community info. They aren’t pushed. Now that you have linked them, they should stay synced (in theory)
Search the full url https://lemmy.ml/c/manga
in the search box on aussie.zone and it should come up. If it doesn’t the first time, search again and it should.
When it doesn’t show the first time I bet it’ll show zero subscribers. That just means that you’re the first person from aussie.zone to connect to that community. As the first person, you’ll be the one to “pull” it into your instance. This will link it so others can find it just by searching manga
in the future.
Edit: for anyone else seeing this. The nature of this really hinders discovery. So that’s why I use lemmyverse.net for global search.
It’s the remote moderator bug. Should be fixed in 0.18
I can see this from lemmy.world. it was showing 1 upvote when I saw it and I upvoted it to 2 as of this post.
