If it’s a genuine accident, then what does a harsher punishment achieve? People make mistakes. Some people are unfortunate enough that their mistake has grave consequences - doesn’t mean they’re any more to blame, just unluckier.

Texting and driving is a good example. Every single person who drives has done it at least once in the past and everyone who claims they haven’t is lying. What’s the difference in the intent of a person like this and one who does end up killing someone while doing so? None. The others simply were luckier. The unlucky ones are not morally more guilty than the others.

Agreed. Even without internet connection, there still remains a ton of other stuff I don’t like about modern cars. I find them quite frustrating to drive honestly.

Yeah, so you might be able to juggle and drive an unicycle at the same time but you still can’t write code or fill an excel sheet while answering to an email.

It’s still morally wrong in the absolute sense since you’re taking something for free that you’re implicitly expected to pay for. However if there is no way for you to actually pay for it even if you wanted then that makes this one of the clearer cases in which one can morally defend piracy. It’s still not right but it’s less wrong.

The only scenario that I can think of that would be even more clear is when you’ve actually bought the media already but the disc got damaged for example as was the case with my GTA San Andreas back in the day: I had bought the game but the disc exploded in the drive so I was forced to crack it so that I could play without the disc.

I don’t get it either. Seems like mostly just a novelty item. I sometimes get the feeling that smartphones have become pretty much as good as they can get in this current form and manufacturers are just trying to come up with imaginary problems to solve in order to stand out somehow.

Just buy any mid-range Android (or and older iPhone) and you’ll get a great device that does everything it needs to and you can stop thinking about whatever the next year’s release does marginally better than the device you have now and use that mental energy on something else.

Well sure, but it still beats being in a bad relationship. Ideally I’d be with someone who I like being with and who likes being with me but you can’t have it all. Relationships aren’t my #1 priority in life.
