I’d say there was a period before reddit hit its pinnacle where Quora was significantly better. Probably more than 10 years ago, though, and only for a few years. I remember when I started spending more time on Reddit than Quora.
Once the body of that first billionaire hits the floor, they’re gonna start dropping like flies.
Weinberg boiled it down to a single axiom for me: “If builders built buildings the way programmers wrote programs, then the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization.” I’m not sure if they’re still in fashion, but two other things that inspired me were The Cathedral and the Bazaar and the front material of the original Gang of Four book *Design Patterns."
I’ve only looked at the front page a couple of times since the blackout. It seems to have degraded significantly. I have no idea if that’s confirmation bias or the reality of the situation.

Also, I believe community creation on startrek.website is currently paused.
I wrote a question on this earlier (probably after reporting the same stuff on !memes) and it got lost.
So, 1) the mods/admins of the spammed community get notified, 2) the admins of the reporter’s instance get notified, and presumably 3) the admins of the spammer’s instance also get notified?
Once again, I confuse the two. :) Thanks for pointing it out.
