I don’t see how a purely magnetic watch band attachment could work for a watch, but I guess we’ll see. Would definitely be a shame to loose band compatibility.
Yes, in my experience really no one cares about iMessage even the slightest in the EU. It would make zero difference if Apple was forced to change anything there.
I actually went back to the default notes app, it’s gotten really good and I‘m getting tired of expensive subscriptions.
People seem to enjoy Bear
Haha, yeah pretty unlikely
It sounds like OP is looking for a different App, not a different engine. Not sure what the actual issue is, though, maybe it is engine related.
I was going to say Opera Mini. But maybe try some safari ad blocker extensions, could speed things up. Not sure if it helps.
Signal will definitely be the app I’ll migrate to if WhatsApp annoys enough people to make them want to switch.
Apple is doing the same thing in Europe as it is the US. The difference is that people in Europe switched to WhatsApp, where people in the US stayed on SMS and got used to iMessage. It’s a group dynamic problem, not a problem that Apple is forcing upon anyone or not allowing (although it could do something against it, but why should they).
Also: not every major smartphone company in Europe is using the “same open system”, Apple is very much here as well.
I can only speak for myself: In my circle, 99% of people are on WhatsApp with a handful on Signal. I have never come across the issue where I didn’t know how to contact someone. There’s badges and notifications, using multiple apps has been a solved problem on smartphones for 10 years.
It would be slightly nicer to have everything in one app, but it’s a non-issue for me at least.
What exactly are you protesting if I may ask?
Who, Tim Apple?
Not saying that’s the way to go, but I watched the side by side YouTube video in 3D on my regular iPhone by simply looking at it blurry and then moving it into position if you know what I mean ^^
It’s not comfortable for longer videos though :D
Not sure if you meant general AI or something else, that’s probably going to be a huge step if we ever get there. But the LLMs we currently have are already quite impactful even with their limitations. I don’t think anyone can deny that - and we’re clearly just at the beginning of this.
Why would you want to reply to spam?
I can’t imagine this replacing a/my smartphone right now, but it’s interesting to have a different form factor for an AI-first device.
I’m curious if it’s a fit for older people, since the interface is mostly/entirely voice.
I liked 3D Touch, but I’m really glad we moved on from a physical home button. For one things like the app switcher feel so much faster and more fluent with the swiping. And for another I always feared the home button would break, no matter how well built.
I’m pretty sure they removed it even on the devices that had it. The watch definitely lost it. But I might be misremembering.
I dearly miss the precision video scrubbing from iOS 16 and I have no clue why they removed it. It was absolutely amazing and it’s now just replaced by… nothing. I miss it every day.
I was speaking in a general sense, but I’m glad you figured it all out.
