I agree with you, but I also think this bot was never going to insert itself into any real discussion. The repeated requests for direct, absolute, concise answers that never go into any detail or have any caveats or even suggest that complexity may exist show that it’s purpose is to be a religious catechism for Maga. It’s meant to affirm believers without bothering about support or persuasion.

Even for someone who doesn’t know about this instruction and believes the robot agrees with them on the basis of its unbiased knowledge, how can this experience be intellectually satisfying, or useful, when the robot is not allowed to display any critical reasoning? I do encourage you to rent one. I like driving, too, and I just didn’t think it was a good experience. But I didn’t really fool around with the programs. It’s interesting at least.

It’s possible drivers who care have figured it out, but there is at least a very large learning curve.

I’m not disagreeing, but having driven a Tesla for a couple weeks-- it’ll make a good driver look bad every time. Turning radius is surprisingly bad. Normal (through the window/mirror) visibility is bad. Handling is super weird and probably unlearnable in the default settings because the car seems to be constantly “correcting” your inputs even when not in autopilot. The default break style gives me motion sickness even when I’m the one driving. And the turn signals-- you just don’t know how long they’ll stay on, so I did start to feel reluctant to use them?

You’re right, but grocery stores sell their shelf space, too, down to the inch and not just the end caps. So this is exactly what’s happening in your grocery store, only online I think the annoyance comes from the slim chance you can get around it if you try hard enough and the lack of instinct when dealing with pictures and text instead of real objects.

I agree with you and one thing that really infuriates me is how stupid the Play store and Apple store have become (obviously for their own short term interest). By not enabling filtering by permissions and price model, data privacy, other concerns, they just repulse anyone with half a brain and make everyone’s experience so much shittier. What should feel premium feels like a cheap scam.

I’m my personal experience, I have to disagree. Keeping an app up to date with the os is not as ridiculous amount of time to need ongoing subscriptions at these prices as long as new users are still coming in. Even server resources don’t cost enough to justify $2/mo minimum from each user for most of these apps just serving a tiny amount of data like leaderboard or new puzzles. The problem is the stores take such huge cut every month so you can’t charge only what you really need. They don’t want to do micro transactions

I love this and have had similar thoughts in relation to my non verbal kid wanting to keep memories in a way they can point out different parts and link together multiple things to make new stories or comments or hypotheticals. Important to have the context and the parts and named things all relating together. I don’t know much about it, but there is a thing called “sidecar” file that can be associated with media. There are some moves to make EXIF data more standardized. So there’s a chance this could be done in an open format.
