All dives are mid-air. A dive that isn’t mid-air is called a crash or a landing, based on various factors.

Never forget that the baby bells slowly reassembled themselves. They’re not a single company but they’re down to 3 or 4 now

I bought one just before the end. No ragrets. There are definitely some software quirks (the rear cross traffic alert always points the wrong direction) but overall I like it.
Wow, a whole $1 million. They’ll notice that for like seven seconds.

do what u/Buffalox said, stop using chrome and chromium-based browsers.
You should be able to to settings then focus then whichever focus you’re working on. Inside there you’ll see categories for people and apps. List any contacts and apps that you want notifications from during that focus. All others should be silenced
It’s a neat idea but it looks like the company doesn’t have the resources to create decent hardware to carry it out
AVA/NHI: asshole vs asshole, no humans involved.
No matter who wins here, everyone loses
It’s nice to see an actual technology post, instead of business news about tech and tech adjacent companies which is the usual fare here
Just ran across this while endlessly scrolling: https://lemmy.sdf.org/post/15292568
I’m not any kind of expert but I seem to recall that turning air conditioners off and on with a switched outlet is a bad thing… something to do with how they start and stop the compressor.
Also, unless you have no choice, stick with the dual hose models, because the single hose ones end up pushing conditioned air out the window. Even if a single hose model has a theoretically higher efficiency, it won’t translate to the real world because it’s blowing cooled air out the window.
Hacking something to replace the unit’s power button is probably your best option
Google will cancel the project in 18 months. AT&T will take over google’s part of it and promise never to raise rates but then they’ll add a new kind of fee every 2-3 months until you’re basically buying them a new satellite every month.
In this case it was an older aircraft, not a MAX 8 or 9. That probably means it’s a maintenance or fatigue problem, rather than a manufacturing quality problem.
I didn’t manually create the scenes. It’s been a long time since I set it up, but I think the ecobee app created the scenes for me automagically.
In the ecobee app, pick your thermostat, go to settings, then homekit. Scroll down to scenes and see what you see.
I used the ecobee app for scheduling the thermostat.
I also have it available in the HomeKit ui.
I don’t have a problem resuming schedule from HomeKit or using Siri. I just say “hey siri resume schedule” and it does it.
Paprika 3 recipe manager does that too, plus it adds it to a local database, without any AI bullshit or HP account.
