Actually considering all of those screws are connected together by the same (presumably metal) plate, this would just create a short circuit and heat up or even melt those screws and plate.

Time to prove them wrong i guess?

Put a lil salt on em and its a genuinely great snack.

Its definitely fighting against itself constantly. For example there is a constant push for more surveillance while at the same time there is a push for more privacy and FOSS. This is both happening within the same legislative structure, its a completely parallel reality.

I recently bought my sister a used Thinkpad X280 for 90€ on ebay. Was in perfect condition, has multiple USBC ports with display support and is super compact and light at ~1.2kg
The biggest issue to avoid is ones where the previous owner put too much pressure on the top while folded, which can leave the display with dents from the keyboard being pressed into it.

Booting from USB drives has worked well for me

Which they obviously would, because they are all from the same pack.

They have low margins because they have high costs (like rent, logistics and insurance stuff), so if those get reduced then they can lower prices by exactly that amount while keeping the same margin.
No genuine good open source project is dying because it is getting replaced by LLM slop code. People that need stable and secure software and know what they are doing would never use LLM made software.
What LLMs do destroy is peoples patience in dealing with bug reports and forum communication. Those are getting overrun with LLM generated garbage replies.

Mamdani proposed the city-owned stores not have to pay rent or overhead taxes, leading to lower consumer prices. They would buy and sell groceries at wholesale prices, centralize warehousing and distribution, and partner with local neighborhoods to source products.
Thats a great idea actually

Fear mongering right wing media machine goes brrrrrr
Same thing in Germany with crime in general constantly dropping while anti immigration sentiment keeps rising under the excuse of “violent immigrants”
Looks like it has electrical tape on it but not sure
In my room its always night if i turn the lights off :D

Finally, took em long enough.
Doesnt warm light make you eepy? Seems like a good reason not to use it in rooms where you wanna be productive.
Thats not even that bad. All the wires are insulated so no danger of shorts. If you put some kind of cover infront of the whole thing, it would probably be fine.

Microsofts boot. They have been slobberin on that for decades at this point.

Yeah, even if it was in the road it could have been a kid dressed up in a snowman costume…

Google Drive, Dropbox or Onedrive?
I only use syncthing (website / android app) for all my file syncing needs. Its peer to peer so requires no server or account, but its not like a cloud where you download stuff on demand, but rather a way to keep folders of your choosing always synchronised/mirrored between your devices.
So in practice i have my pictures, music, documents and keepassxc database (password manager) folders synced to my desktop and then i have a “stuff” folder for random junk i want to exchange between my phone, desktop, laptop, tablet, etc.
It might not be for everyone, but my family and i love it, because stuff is just instantly there when you need it. We also have a family folder now that is synced to all of us so we can exchange large numbers of pictures, videos, movies, music, etc.
It doesnt support publishing things to people that arent using syncthing though, so if you want to be able to just send a browser openable link to people to share stuff, then you should look to nextcloud instead.
Reminder to actually download and archive all the game files you bought on gog. They might not be there for much longer.
