Honestly as far as first seasons in Trek go, DS9 is far from the worst. Duet is still one of my favourite episodes in all of Trek.

  I would prefer to watch S1 TNG over DS9 any day.
  
  But DS9 is one of my favourite shows with some very likeable characters
