Top Democrats released a draft congressional map Friday that may lead to Republicans losing five US House seats as Gov. Gavin Newsom pushes to offset possible GOP gains from redistricting in Texas.
do it just like the national popular vote interstate compact: a bunch of states get together and say that they will gerrymander to offset or exceed differences in other states where outcomes differ from the proportional vote of the electorate
if enough states jump onboard that’d nullify the point of gerrymandering
solving the game theory of the problem is the way to go imo
you can even word it so that it doesn’t mention either party… in fact, you should because the point is not to have democrats win; it’s to stop gerrymandering
