A key figure behind Star Trek's classic era has likened the shortened seasons of modern TV to the equivalent of a Tinder relationship, and said he hoped the sci-fi franchise would return to 22-episode seasons.
I know it’s rough around the edges - some odd plotlines, some 90s hornbag writing and fanservice that causes some deserved cringe. But it also has a cast of interesting characters from diverse backgrounds trying to represent their various clans with exemplary work, and figure out how to work together to build a better future for them all. It’s hopeful and grounded, and leads well into TOS, which is what it was designed to do.
Almost like the writers understood and respected what Gene Roddenberry had created Star Trek for.
